April 1 – 30th is the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival.
Historically, the tulip is a symbol of paradise on Earth. Your Fidalgo Coffee team invites you, your family, and your friends to visit our beautiful community during the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. Experience the breathtaking splendor nature creates in millions of blooms across acres of brilliant color.
The annual Skagit Valley Tulip Festival is the largest in Washington state. It’s the second largest tulip festival in the US by acreage of tulips, number of farms, and days of blooms.
There isn’t one location you go to for the festival. The fields are centrally located in the valley between La Conner and Mt. Vernon. Four primary farms create the color brilliance:
While many visitors experience “Tulip Time” as a driving tour, your Fidalgo Coffee team wants you to know the festival offers much more! All four farms offer their own unique experiences. From teatime in the tulips to guided painting classes, photo ops, u-pick, and beyond, you can personalize your trip with advanced planning by visiting the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival website or a summary of the four farm growers.
The timing of your visit is critical. Tulips bloom according to the weather. As our friends, we want you to know that this season is running behind schedule, so you may want to wait until mid-April to visit. See this news article from The Bellingham Herald about the bloom timing:
“The 2023 Skagit Valley Tulip Festival officially starts on April 1, but local growers anticipate a late bloom that may not coincide with the festival’s start date. “It’s just been cold,” said Tulip Valley Farms CEO Andrew Miller in a telephone interview with The Bellingham Herald. “We’ve seen a lot of cloudy days, so the soil doesn’t get the warmth from the sun that it needs, and tulips are 100% temperature driven.” Read more at: https://www.bellinghamherald.com/news/local/article273564570.html#storylink=cpy
While the blooms may be late, you can order the Fidalgo seasonal Tulip Festival Blend now!
As a reminder, we are shipping our seasonal Tulip Festival Blend direct to your doorstep through April 30.
The Tulip Festival Blend is roasted dark to bring out smooth, bold, and full notes. This caramelized dark roast is certified Organic, Fair Trade, Shade Grown, and Kosher. Available in 12oz and 2lb sized bags.
When purchasing a bag of Tulip Festival Blend, 5% of proceeds from this Artist Series label coffee will go to The Skagit Valley Tulip Festival, a Washington State Non-Profit Organization. Seattle artist Kerry Clavadetscher did the 2023 Tulip Festival Blend artwork.
We hope you will visit our community during this year’s Tulip Festival. The grower’s expectation is this will be our most colorful spring yet. The daffodils will still be blooming in early April, followed by the tulips in mid-April. Wishing you safe travels, a magical experience, and our Tulip Festival Blend coffee in your travel tumbler.
